Space Dander is a large group, local multiplayer game that lets players each control characters of a Unity game instance with their own mobile devices. This was a rapidly prototyped experiment in emergent gameplay, investigating how players behave when asked to simultaneously control an avatar. It was inspired by Loren and Rachel Carpenter’s PONG game at SIGGRAPH ‘91.
Role: Sole Artist / Designer
Responsibilities:
Authored Houdini Digital Assets for parametric level design.
Built an open source multi-touch GUI library (p5.touchgui) and node.js server infrastructure (p5.multiplayer) that uses Socket.IO to communicate with the Unity game instance.
Created all visual and sonic content, including a dynamic score that is affected by gameplay.
